Feb. 12, 2020, San Diego — Dan Konigsberg, founder and CEO of Boulder-based CampMinder, LLC, has been awarded the American Camp Association’s prestigious Special Recognition Award, recognizing “remarkable efforts to promote the culture and ethos of summer camp.”
There are thousands of camps in North America and around the world serving the diverse needs of children and parents. The camp industry has grown significantly over the past decade, enabled in large part by advances in operations supported by technology. With CampMinder, Konigsberg introduced Software as a Service to the summer camp industry in 2001, ushering an industry that largely relied on pen and paper into the era of online registration, forms, and business management. To this day, CampMinder remains the premier operational software platform for camps, and its almost 1,000 customers worldwide are widely recognized as the “Who’s Who” of the industry.
“I am really honored to have been chosen for this meaningful award,” said Konigsberg. “I’m proud that CampMinder’s influence has changed the way camps think about technology and has enabled them to spend more time giving personal care and attention to the families they serve. I’m as inspired as ever to serve an industry that makes such a difference in the lives of a generation of children who need the benefit of camp today more than ever.”
CampMinder recently launched its latest innovation, Campanion, a mobile platform for camp management and parent engagement. “As successful as we’ve been serving this industry so far, in many ways we’re just getting started. We’re determined to help lead our industry to more growth and success, creating a future where more kids go to camp. The world needs more ‘camp people’ who know how to coexist as a community in a kinder and more inclusive way than our leaders today are modeling.”
Along with its technology and service innovations, CampMinder’s commitment to the tenets of conscious leadership have led to national acknowledgment of its workplace culture, as demonstrated by its recognition as a Best Place to Work in the U.S. by Outside Magazine for three consecutive years, as well as its receiving similar awards from Inc. Magazine and Built In Colorado. Says Konigsberg, “Our company is proof that a business can succeed by putting its values and employees ahead of its desire for profit.”
Konigsberg will be receiving the 2020 Special Recognition Award at the American Camp Association’s 2020 National Conference on February 11th in San Diego, California.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/12″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” overlay_strength=”0.3″ column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
